"My life has been turned upside down with my health. Having a service dog will change my life. It will not only make me feel safer in regards to the un-predictable nature that comes with Epilepsy , it will also give me back my independence." - Tori Woods
Meet Tori, our 3rd Moxie's Mission recipient - an exceptional individual who embodies "moxie" during tough challenges. Despite being diagnosed with epilepsy, Ehlers Danlos, and a few other comorbidities, she never gives up. A proud Truman State graduate, Tori earned her B.S. in Health Sciences and plans to pursue a Master's in Social Work where she has a desire to work in the medical field.
Tori believed she was participating in a "final interview" via Zoom for Moxie's Mission. However, instead, we surprised her with the news that she had been officially selected to be a Moxie's Mission recipient and would receive funding for a service dog. Witness her heartfelt reaction here, while learning more about Tori and the incredible things she does.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Tori teamed up with Belle fully funded after she graduated from service dog training, and they have been inseparable since. We are thrilled to watch their bond grow and follow their journey moving forward!
